OkaMatrix is a bottled basement membrane complex derived from Engelbreth-Holm-Swarm (EHS) sarcoma cells. It is extremely rich in proteins that provide cells with a familiar environment to support growth. The basement membrane of OkaMatrix are thin sheets that consist of collagen type IV, entactin, perlecan, and especially lamanin. OkaMatrix provides essential chemical signalling cytokines and structural ECM proteins required to promote the 2 and 3 dimensional growth of cells.

- OkaMatrix can be used in scaffold systems like microfluidics and organ-on-a-chip systems.
- OkaMatrix can also be used in scaffold-free systems like cell spheroid and organoid generation.
- Cells can be recovered from OkaMatrix using a cell recovery solution and used in cell counting, RNA isolation, and qPCR.
- OkaMatrix can be used to precoat wells and plates to improve cellular attachment for in vitro cell culture.
- Use undiluted OkaMatrix (protein concentration of 8mg/mL or higher) to form OkaMatrix domes for organoid culture.
- OkaMatrix can be used in combination with other hydrogels to create bio-inks for 3D bioprinting.
- OkaMatrix can be used for cell attachment assays, invasion assays, and proliferation assays.
